Position: Photojournalist Intern
My primary responsibilities included capturing photographs, researching topics, and scouting for suitable areas to photograph. I was responsible for covering a wide range of events for Rappler, including fundraising events, Manila's first earthquake drill, and conducting interviews with ordinary people to capture their hopes and fears about their nation's current situation. Throughout my internship, I gained valuable experience in photojournalism and storytelling, and learned how to work in a fast-paced digital news environment.
The Chimes | May 2015 - May 2016
Location: Biola University, La Mirada, California
Position: Staff Photographer
My primary role was to capture photographs and conduct research for the newspaper. I covered a diverse range of events and conducted interviews across the campus, including sports events, concerts, and guest lectures. Additionally, I also utilized VR 360º photography to capture unique and immersive visuals for the newspaper. Through my work at The Chimes, I honed my photography skills, developed a keen eye for detail, and learned how to effectively capture and tell compelling stories through visuals.
CNN PHILIPPINES | June 2016 - August 2016
Location: Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines
Position: Current Affair Intern (Photographer and Cameraman)
I was responsible for capturing photographs and filming footage for the episodes of "Profiles with Mitzi Borromeo" and "Heart of a Champion", working alongside the team of acclaimed journalist Mitzi Borromeo. In addition to my filming responsibilities, I also conducted research and organized digital B-roll clips.
One of my notable contributions during my internship was pitching the story of Jessie Lichauco for "Profiles with Mitzi Borromeo". Through my efforts, I helped secure an interview with the family of Lichauco, and CNN Philippines became the first media press to cover their story. Overall, my experience at CNN Philippines was both rewarding and informative, and it provided me with a deeper understanding of the complexities of current affairs journalism.

Location: Davao City, Davao Del Sur, Philippines
Position: Freelance Photographer
Role: Portrait Environmental Photography
My assignment was to take portrait environmental photographs of Myrna Padilla, a resident of Davao City, Davao Del Sur, Philippines.
Prior to capturing her photographs, I took the time to interact with Padilla to understand her work and character better. This enabled me to take the shots that would best capture her unique personality and tell her story effectively. Throughout the shoot, I utilized my expertise in portrait environmental photography to create powerful and compelling visuals that would resonate with the readers of "Rest of World". My work on this assignment was both challenging and rewarding, and it further strengthened my skills in portrait photography and storytelling.
